We have had it, the speech. According to the PM there is not much hope for Europe. Yes he wants to stay in Europe but only if Europe becomes a new Dominion of the UK. Well dream on. It is like being only partly pregnant. If you want the goodies you will have to stomach the rest.
The days of the Iron lady who could change the UK position in Europe by swinging het lead filled handbag are long gone. Today’s situation does not allow leniency nor special positions for countries in the European community

Possibly the PM has given this show purely for home consumption, i.e. his conservative cronies. Timing as usual is crucial. Two years to go to the next election.
Say the Conservatives lose this time. Then the idea of a referendum will be buried. Out of the political debris the international credibility of the UK will diminish. It is a fata morgana to think that the Axis UK and USA will counterbalance Europe. It is to be expected that the friendship will certainly diminish as the European interests of the USof A will be more important.
Say the conservatives win the elections. The UK out of Europe. You can bank on it that many financial flagships will leave London and go for Amsterdam/Frankfurt and if needed Paris. UK exporting goods will be submitted to import taxes. UK not being part of the Europe will be handled as all other non European entities.
It looks now that the PM is playing a card with very high stakes. The question remains if the so-called UK interests will benefit from this. During the next two years matters and positions in Europe can drastically change and marginalize the UK. No country in Europe will be willing to be kept in the dark of the final political position of the UK.
Have we witnessed a prelude to Camerout ??
